Privacy

What ViraScience keeps, why, and what you can do about it.

What we keep

  • Your account: name, email and password (hashed only; we never have the password itself). If you sign in with Google, the name and email Google gives us.
  • What you save: your library, the journals you follow and your support tickets.
  • Server logs (IP address, browser, page requested) for security and fixing errors, kept for a short time.
  • Page-view counts: only the page address and the day; no IP, cookie or anything about the visitor. If your browser asks not to be tracked (DNT/GPC), not even that is counted.

What we do not do

  • We show no ads and never sell your information.
  • We use no other company's tracking tools (such as Google Analytics).
  • We never give anyone the email or phone number of authors or users.

Emails

Account emails (activation, password reset) are sent from our own mail server. Every newsletter carries a one-click unsubscribe link; after unsubscribing you get none.

Cookies

ViraScience only uses the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms.

Where your data is

Your information is kept on ViraScience's servers in Germany (European Union).

Your choices

You can see and edit your account. To delete your account and your information, email support@virascience.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here, and we email users about important changes.
